Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP )
Pennsylvania's program to provide health coverage to uninsured children and teens who are not eligible for or enrolled in Medical Assistance. Regardless of the reasons your children might not have health insurance, CHIP may be able to help you.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is dedicated to helping low-income families become independent while they receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits. TANF is also referred to as cash assistance.
The TANF program provides money to help:
Pregnant women
Dependent children and their parents who live with them
Dependent children and other relatives who live with them and care for them

WIC ( Women, Infants, Children)
The Pennsylvania Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC serves the following Pennsylvania residents:
Pregnant women.
Breastfeeding women, for up to one year postpartum.
Women up to six months postpartum, who are not breastfeeding.
Infants and children under 5 years old, including foster children.

Transportation for
Pregnant Women
Medical Assistance Transportation (MATP)
Any Washington County resident who has a current and valid Medical Assistance Card and needs the medical
transportation service is eligible. Freedom Transit will provide transportation only to medical providers enrolled in the MATP (those which accept Medical Assistance). Social security determination is not covered, even if your doctor accepts MATP.
To apply, please call Freedom Transit at (724) 223-8747. A Customer Service Representative will ask for your
name, address, phone number, date of birth, Medical Assistance recipient and card issue numbers, and Social
Security number.
• We can provide up to 30 days of medical transportation while your application is being processed.
• An application will be mailed to you, or you may apply in person at our office. If applying in person, please bring
your medical insurance cards with you.

Genisis Center Classes Earn Furniture Distribution
Equipment/Furniture Distribution Policy:
Clients who attend classes or other programs at The Learning Center at Genesis can earn “Baby Bucks” that can be used to purchase items at the community centers.
